Departmental Objective

The Clinical Services Division at SWVMHI is dedicated to providing comprehensive assessments as the foundation for good quality, individualized treatment and rehabilitation services. The goal is to help individuals with serious mental illness regain and maintain their highest possible level of functioning in an environment of their choice. Clinical Services staff members are integral to the design and development of patient care services, including treatment team functioning, and in the measurement of outcome.

Comprised of staff from a variety of disciplines and training backgrounds, the Clinical Services Division is uniquely situated to work collaboratively with both internal and external treatment providers and other community agencies, to ensure that maximum benefit is achieved from inpatient hospitalization, and that a smooth transition is made from one care setting to another.

The Clinical Services leadership team members consistently convey to their staff that the most effective care is assured by focusing on the quality and quantity of direct services delivered to individuals. Quality care is designed and measured as close to each individual’s experience as possible. Unity of purpose is assured by focusing on the distinct values and goals of SWVMHI as a whole, and Clinical Services as an entity within such.
